WEST ORANGE, NJ – Erin Vermeal went 3-for-3 with a double, homer and five RBI and Danielle Fastiggi went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs to lead the 14th-seeded West Orange High School varsity softball team to a 20-3 home win over 19th-seeded East Orange Campus in the preliminary third round of the Essex County Tournament on April 26.

Nahtali Simpson went 1-for-2 with three RBI and Andreyah Ageday went 2-for-4 with a single, double and three RBI.

WOHS will visit No. 3 seed West Essex in the first round on Saturday, May 5, at 3 p.m.

The Mountaineers lost at Whippany Park, 13-3, April 27 to move to a 10-6 record.

Earlier in the week, WOHS defeated East Orange, 16-0, at home, April 23, in a Super Essex Conference non-division game. The Mountaineers also beat Passaic, 10-2, April 25, at home.
