WEST ORANGE – The West Orange High School boys’ and girls’ track and field teams enjoyed great showings at the Kearny Relays on Saturday, April 2.
The boys’ and girls’ teams each finished second in their respective Varsity Divisions.
Bukola Akinsola led the WOHS girls and was named the Girls’ Outstanding Athlete of the Meet.
The following are the WOHS Varsity winners:
Girls
400-meter intermediate hurdles: 3:50.90, Akinsola, Jamie Moul, and Racheal Ezomo.
4×800-meter relay: 10:52.56, Angeline Fields, Franceska Jean-Jacques, Katherine Lopez, and Anna Favetta.
Sprint Medley Swedish Relay: 2:29.58, Sidney Gordon, Bukola Akinsola, Jamie Moul, and Kristina Boafo.
Shuttle hurdles: 1:15.29, Moul, Tyra Brooks, Akinsola, and Marie Amoyaw.
Boys
400-meter intermediate hurdles: 3:13.86, Timothy VanCauwenberge, Daniel Pierre, and Corey Williams.
4×800: 8:39.59, Ebizie Anuamadi, Joseph Onubogu, Liam Cunningham, and Derek Lim.
Distance medley: 11:23.17, Onubogu, David Robinson, Cunningham, and Anuamadi.
Pole vault: 17 feet, 6 inches, Daniel Pierre and Josh Vinoya
North Bergen finished first overall on the girls’ side, and Paterson Kennedy took first overall on the boys’ side.
In the Freshman/Sophomore Division, the WOHS boys’ and girls’ teams each finished first overall in the team standings.
