MONTCLAIR, NJ — Zhehnia Doluda, of West Orange, has enjoyed a superb sophomore season as an outside hitter for the Montclair Kimberley Academy girls volleyball team, which advanced to the Non-Public, North B state tournament sectional final before falling to top-seeded Morris Catholic, 2-0, on Tuesday, April 20.

The Cougars entered their final regular season match vs. neighboring Montclair High on April 22 with a fine 11-3 overall record, including a perfect 8-0 mark in the Super Essex Conference–Liberty Division as the Montclair private school clinched a division title for the modified 2021 campaign.

Doluda, a superb all-around athlete, is one of the tall and talented young players in the lineup for MKA, as the Cougars have three 6-footers to help produce kills, make blocks and generally help accumulate points around the net with Doluda and fellow sophomoress Samiyah Abdur-Rahim and Hailey Fouche.

“Samiyah and Hailey are great hitters as our outside hitters while Zhenia scrapes blocks and hits well on the right side, where she is very effective for us,” MKA head coach Molli Dowd said. “It’s great to have that type of height near the net and they are all excellent athletes as well.”
