West Orange HS boys’ soccer team falls to Millburn, 1-0, in ECT quarterfinals; 12-game unbeaten streak ends

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The third-seeded West Orange High School boys’ varsity soccer team lost to sixth-seeded Millburn, 1-0, in the quarterfinals of the 43rd Essex County Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 22, at LIncoln Field in West Orange.

Drew Cohn scored a goal in the second half for Millburn.

WOHS had its eight-game winning streak and 12-game unbeaten streak snapped and moved to an 11-2-2 record. Millburn moved to 9-2-1.

It was the Mountaineers’ first loss since a 2-1 setback to Newark East Side in the second game of the season. WOHS was 11-0-1 in its last 12 games. Incidentally, the tie in that span was against Millburn, 1-1, Sept. 27, at Lincoln Field in a Super Essex Conference-American Division game. WOHS’ other tie came in the season opener against Seton Hall Prep in a scoreless divisional game.
