ORANGE, NJ — Nassan’s Place, and autism awareness and family services nonprofit organization, will host its annual Holiday Celebration on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Orange Elks Lodge 135 on Main Street in Orange.
“We partnered with the Orange Elks Lodge 135 once again,” Nadine Wright-Arbubakrr, Nassan’s Place founder and president, said Tuesday, Dec. 6. “It’s a great partnership because, together, we create a place where families of autism can come and be themselves and have a good time. We’re expecting over 200 children.”
Wright-Arbubakrr said she’s thankful for the Elks and others who have supported her efforts to spread the word about autism and to offer much-needed relief and resources to families of children diagnosed with the cognitive and developmental condition.
“We’re truly grateful for all of the support that we get from the Orange Elks Lodge 135, Lemcor Inc., United Healthcare, Razac and the many other sponsors and donors,” said Wright-Arbubakrr, adding that the group’s mission to raise $5 million to buy a building to use as a base of operations is ongoing.
“It’s definitely still on. We’re going to into the new year with it and, hopefully, in October 2017, when we celebrate our fifth anniversary, we’ll have reached our $5 million goal. We’re always taking donations. … We can’t stop the diagnosis, but we can help the families affected by it.”
