GLEN RIDGE, NJ — Two challengers will be joining the Glen Ridge Board of Education in January as Teresa Boyle-Vellucci and Anthony Bonnett have been elected along with incumbent David Campbell.
With 100 percent of the 6,393 votes cast tallied, the uncertified results show Boyle-Vellucci with 1,893 votes and 29.61 percent; Bonnett with 1,616 votes and 25.28 percent; and Campbell with 1,553 votes and 24.29 percent. Incumbent Tim Kepple, who was endorsed by the CCC, finished fourth with 1,306 votes and 20.43 percent. There were 25 write-ins at .39 percent.
Endorsed by the CCC this year, Boyle-Vellucci ran unsuccessfully for a board seat two years ago. She is an employment attorney and would like to serve on the personnel/policies committee.
Bonnett is a program manager for Bed, Bath and Beyond and said he would bring a technical background to the board. He would like to work on the personnel committee, feeling that as Glen Ridge becomes more diverse, that should be reflected in its teaching staff. He was not endorsed by the CCC.
Campbell is an attorney and was endorsed by the CCC. He also said it was important for the district staff to reflect diversity.
He is the current chair of the personnel/policy committee.
