EO city purchasing agent to be sworn in as president of statewide agency

EAST ORANE, NJ — East Orange Mayor Lester Taylor is set to preside over the swearing-in ceremony for city Purchasing Agent Lisa L. Jackson as the new president of the Governmental Purchasing Association on New Jersey, on Thursday, Dec. 10, at 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in East Windsor.

“Hello family, I am very proud to announce that Aunt Lisa is being sworn in as the president of the Governmental Purchasing Association on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. in East Windsor,” said Jackson on Wednesday, Dec. 2, in a text message sent to Irvington North Ward Councilman David Lyons. “Tickets are $45. It would be so great if as many people as possible show our love and support for me reaching the highest honor in my field.”

Lyons said he is very excited about it. Jackson previously worked in that area before coming to East Orange and her ties to that community remain strong.

“Well-deserved, Lisa,” said Lyons on Wednesday, Dec. 2. “So happy for you. God has blessed you with integrity, drive and the energy to serve well.”
