Newark honors Rev. Ron by renaming street after him
Photo by Chris Sykes The corner of Wickliffe Street and West Market Street, leading into downtown Newark, across the street from Newark Tech School and the Essex County Veterans Memorial Park and the Society Hills apartment complex, has been renamed in honor of Pastor Ronald B. Christian of Christian Love Baptist Church in Irvington. Also known as Rev. Ron, he hailed from Newark and had deep ties to that community, as well as Irvington.
