Orange to host ELA Story Con at Lincoln Avenue School

ORANGE, NJ — Orange interim Superintendent of Schools Ron Lee, is inviting residents to the English Language Arts Story Con at Lincoln Avenue School on Friday, June 1, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

“Come out … to find out who won the title ‘Most Well Read’ in each of the categories! Find out which schools won the top prizes!” said Lee on Monday, May 21.

School officials said the district didn’t manage to meet all of its goals for this year’s Page Turners Reading Challenge, but students did put in a great effort that deserves to be recognized with a block party.

“The 2017-2018 Orange Page Turners Reading challenge is over! Although we did not make it to 2 million pages read, we did collaboratively record 1,753,627 pages,” Lee said. “Over 500,000 pages more than last year! So there is still much to celebrate.”

“The theme is ‘Story Con,’ so come as your favorite storybook character and get free tickets,” said Lee.
