Unearthing the future: archeology team to meet at Orange Public Library

ORANGE, NJ — Archaeologists dig into the ground to unearth stories of the past, but in Orange there is already a hole where highway l-280 runs through the center of town. The Reverse Archaeology team has been listening to the stories of Orange residents, past and present.  On Friday, March 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Orange Public Library, 348 Main St., Orange, the team will share some of the stories it has heard. Come and add your story to the ongoing project.

What can you tell it about what disappeared and what has changed about the city since 280 opened? How do residents live whole lives in a city cut in two? What do you want to see in Orange’s future?

For more information, visit 280inOrange.org and Facebook at Reverse Archaeology in Orange.

if you want to see a lot about Orange go on Facebook and try to view the late Anthony Monica’s page. He has a lot of pictures about Orange before 280, which destroyed the town.
I was born and raised in Orange and also know a lot of the details of the town especially the West Ward where 280 went through.
