ORANGE, NJ — Orange North Ward Councilwoman Tency Eason is inviting everyone in the city to come out to her home church, St. Matthew AME Church on Oakwood Avenue, on Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for the annual fish fry fundraiser.
“We’re inviting people to come and fellowship with us at our annual fish fry,” said Eason on Tuesday, July 10. “We do it every year for fellowship and bringing the community together. The money we raise is used to buy flowers to beautify the church, inside and out.”
Eason said the church would be taking donations for fish sandwiches and full fish dinners that come with whiting, collard greens or string beans, potato salad or macaroni cheese and bread.
“We’ll be offering desserts,” added Eason. “The fish dinners come with everything included, but we’ll also be selling the individual side orders … and a bottle of soda or a can of water. We’re doing this for a very good cause and people can call ahead and make their orders for pickup. Anyone that wants to phone in their orders should call within 15 minutes, before they actually come to pick them up.”
