IRVINGTON, NJ — Seji Lusi and his partners at the Winning or Nothing T-shirt company, located on Springfield Avenue, are hosting the third annual Community Cookout and Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 26, in Union Avenue Park.
“We will be teaching kids how to make custom T-shirts on site,” said Lusi on Sunday, Aug. 13. “We would appreciate all members of the community coming out to enjoy good food, good music, family-oriented fun and fellowship with us on Aug. 26.”
Last year, Lusi and company used the bash as an occasion to roll out the latest designer T-shirt that bears a likeness of the Pac Man character, from the 1980s videogame, eating up a group of “ghosts” in the same manner as the game, with a slogan that states: “We eat our enemies.” This year, they said it’s going to be more of the same, but bigger and better than ever before, but the goal is still the same.
“It keeps people off the streets and out of trouble,” said Lusi’s good friend, Godson Saintpaul, on Saturday, July 27, 2016. “I’ve known him for so long, it feels like I’m already home. This is family and the community is part of our family, too.”
