I’ll always love Grandma Dorothy more than words can describe, and it breaks my heart to pieces that she’s no longer with us. She was such an amazing, humble, and diligent woman, and will forever remain one of the biggest and most important influences in my life. Her sharp and intuitive nature perfectly complimented her kind and patient heart, and through her example, she taught me so much about the honor of womanhood, and the true value of marriage and motherhood. I’m so very grateful to call her one of my role models.
From cooking, to crocheting, to crossword puzzles, and beyond, she introduced me to so many of life’s creatively meditative pleasures. Gathering around her dining room table with family on Sundays to socialize and enjoy her delicious homemade dinners, with coffee and dessert, afterwards, represent some of the fondest memories of both my youth, and my adulthood. I will always cherish our time together, and can only hope to age with as much grace, dignity, and self-determination as she did.
