Bloomfield HS football team falls to Hackensack in playoff opener

BLOOMFIELD – The sixth-seeded Bloomfield High School varsity football team lost at third-seeded Hackenack, 21-0, in the first round of the state North Jersey Section 1, Group 5 playoffs on Friday, Nov. 13.

Seniors Matthew Gaime and Jeff Siceron each had eight tackles, and junior Danny Carter, junior Barak Pipkins and senior Lowell Kelly-Gamble each had seven tackles for the Bengals. Kelly-Gamble also had a sack.

The Bengals, with a 5-4 record, will host Montclair on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m. in the season finale.

    Good game Bengals( nephew #7 Eli Simmons) Hackensack had home town advantage and they used it with a lot of flags and questionable penalties. I’m still proud of you guys, hold your head up…
