WEST ORANGE – The West Orange High School boys’ varsity basketball team defeated Mount Olive and Cranford to win the Cranford Holiday Tournament title.
Jeremiah Moore had 29 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks and Patrick Jamison had 27 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in the 82-68 win over Mount Olive on Dec. 28. Andrew Scholz had 11 points and 10 rebounds, Nashiem Harte had eight points and six assists and Doug Hughes had five points and five rebounds.
Jamison had 18 points; Moore had 16 points and 10 rebounds; Scholz had 11 points, five rebounds and two blocks and Hughes had 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks in the 71-59 win over Cranford on Dec. 29. Harte added eight points and five rebounds.
The Mountaineers lost to Westfield, 53-51, in the West Orange Showcase on Jan. 3 to move to a 4-1 record. Moore scored 25 points; Jamison had 15 points and Hughes had nine.
In earlier action, Moore scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Scholz had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the 78-45 win at Shabazz on Dec. 22. Silvera and Chris Smith each had 10 points and Hughes had seven points and six rebounds.
Harte doesn’t get enough credit he’s the engine that drives the team he had double digit assist both games!
