WEST ORANGE, NJ — Residents at Daughters of Israel participated in a solar eclipse party on Aug. 21 in the Frances Davis Garden. Eclipse-themed treats were served, including cookies, fruit and cheeses carved into sun, moon and star shapes.

DOI golf tournament is declared a success

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A “Great Gatsby”-themed fashion show took place at Daughters of Israel on Aug. 4, coordinated by volunteer Rachel Katz. Some residents walked down the runway sporting 1920s-inspired attire, escorted by the volunteer models, while others sat back, took in the show, and enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres reminiscent of the era.

Browne earns ‘Humanism in Healthcare’ honor

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Gail Browne, a certified nursing assistant at Daughters of Israel in West Orange, was a recipient of the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey’s Lester Z. Lieberman Humanism in Healthcare Award. The awards dinner took place at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston on July 17.
