Vauss to host Mayor’s Ball at Nanina’s in the Park

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Mayor Tony Vauss will be hosting his fourth annual Mayor’s Ball at Nanina’s in the Park restaurant in Belleville on Thursday, Oct. 4, after five years in office.

“Remember, I did not have my first Mayor’s Ball until 2015, because I wanted to focus on getting Irvington on track,” said Vauss on Tuesday, Oct. 2. “Schedule permitting, the governor could be attending this year’s ball, as well as Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver, Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo and a whole host of elected officials. More importantly, we’re going to have a great time.”

Gov. Phil Murphy attended Vauss’ second annual Black Tie Mayor’s Ball at Nanina’s In the Park restaurant in Belleville on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016. That was right around the time the news broke that Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and state Assembly Speaker Jim Sweeney had pulled out of the running for governor, clearing the way for Murphy to win the New Jersey Democratic Party primary election, on his way to winning the general election that autumn.

During his successful 2017 campaign, Murphy said, “As cities like Irvington go, so goes the state of New Jersey.”
