In recognition of Black History Month, the Lincoln Avenue hosted a Black Excellence Pop-Up Shop, supporting small Black-owned businesses. Community School Coordinator Teleisha Brunson put together the event that included 35 businesses, plus raffles, music and networking. Brunson said she hopes to make the pop up shop an annual event.
There was a full house on Saturday, Feb. 8, for a youth basketball game at the Lincoln Avenue School. Heywood Avenue School took on Oakwood Avenue School. Oakwood got the win, 25 to 14.
