MAPLEWOOD/SOUTH ORANGE — The Columbia High School girls soccer team continued its great start to the season.
The Cougars defeated Glen Ridge and Newark East Side to improve to 4-0. Freshman Zareen Alban and junior Stevie Markovic each had a goal, and junior Kaya Rosen had one assist to lead the Cougars to a 2-1 win over Glen Ridge on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Underhill Sports Complex’s Lynn V. Profeta Field.
Senior Naomi Swanson had four saves.
CHS defeated Newark East Side 2-0 on Thursday, Sept. 10, at East Side. Rosen and Alban each had a goal. Sophomore Lyla Bernhard and freshman Josephine Doble each had an assist.
