BELLEVILLE – The Belleville High School varsity softball team defeated Irvington and Science Park to improve to a 3-0 record.
CherylAnn Nicosia went 2-for-3 with five RBI and Sydney Gomez went 2-for-3 with two RBI and four runs to lead the Bucs to a 20-0 home win over Irvington on April 6.
Breana Nieves had a double, a RBI and two runs; Gianna Benacquista went 1-for-3 with a RBI; Brittney Huaman went 1-for-1 with a RBI; and Gabby Racciopi had two RBI. Winning pitcher Kara Sica allowed two hits and struck out nine and went 1-for-2 with a RBI.
Krystal Diaz went 1-for-2 with two RBI and Kaila Fried fired a five-inning one-hitter and drove in two runs at the plate in the 14-0 home win over Science Park on April 11. Victoria Bruno, Gomez, Jasmine LaTorre, Kristan Lombardi, Nicosia, Natasha Sanchez and Karen Wong each drove in a run.
