NUTLEY – Senior left-hander Emily Holden tossed a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk to lead the Nutley High School varsity softball team to a 4-0 win at Livingston on April 25 in a Super Essex Conference-American Division game.
Senior shortstop Stefanie Ziemer had a two-run single and senior center fielder Alanis Concepcion and junior second baseman Samantha Echevarria each had two hits for the Raiders, who won their fifth straight game to improve to a 10-2 overall record. NHS is tied atop the SEC-American Division with Mount Saint Dominic Academy. Both are 7-1 in the division. Nutley beat Mount St. Dominic, 1-0, April 15. Nutley’s divisional loss was to West Essex, 2-1, in North Caldwell, on a walk-off hit.
