MAPLEWOOD — The Springfield Avenue Gazebo hosted Essex Funk on Sunday as the finale of the summer Sunday Jazz Series. More than 130 people attended the event, most with blankets or portable chairs and many getting up to dance during the show, which was presented by Gregory Burrus Productions and the Springfield Avenue Partnership. On Friday, Aug. 15, the gazebo will host Men of Soul, starting at 7 p.m.
