BLOOMFIELD – The Bloomfield High School boys’ varsity volleyball team defeated Old Bridge, 25-15, 25-23, Friday, April 29, at home in a non-conference match to remain unbeaten this season.
Jose Bruno-Maldonado had 10 assists and seven digs and Khalil Naouai had 14 kills, two dig
s and two blocks to lead the Bengals, who improved to a 13-0 record.
Andy Murillo had eight assists and three digs; Al-Samad Henderson had three kills and three blocks; Zac Pekar had seven digs; Noel Shaji posted nine digs and two kills; Kyle Barrow collected three assists, two kills and two blocks and Romello Fairclouth added two blocks.
In their previous match, the Bengals defeated Belleville, 25-11, 22-25, 25-16, April 28, in a Super Essex Conference-American Division match at home. Naouai had 21 kills and eight digs; Murillo had seven assists, Bruno-Maldonado had 33 assists; Barrow had four kills and three digs; Pekar notched seven digs; Shaji collected seven kills and six digs and Fairclouth had four blocks.
