GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams competed at the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 State Championships at Central Park in Morris Plains.
The boys’ team finished in seventh place out of 12 teams in the boys’ team standings, just missed qualifying for the NJSIAA Group 1 State Championships. The top five teams qualified for the Group 1 State Championships.
Ren DeBartolomeis, a junior, finished in 10th place out of 81 runners in a time of 18:08.2 to lead GRHS.
On the girls’ side, GRHS junior Sofia Costa finished seventh out of 49 runners in 21:39.09.
DeBartolomeis and Costa qualified for the NJSIAA Group 1 State Championships this Saturday, Nov. 10, at Holmdel Park. The top 10 individual finishers qualified for the Group 1 State Championships.
