NUTLEY – The Nutley East 11-12-year-old Little League All-Star team defeated Rutherford, 14-10, in seven innings in the Section 2 tournament in Livingston on Sunday, July 17.
With the win, Nutley East advanced to Section 2 finals on Thursday, July 21, at 6 p.m. against the winner of Roberto Clemente and Rutherford. Livingston is hosting the Section tournament.
Nutley East is 2-0 in the double-elimination Section tournament. They defeated Roberto Clemente, 5-3, in the first game on Friday, July 15.
A win on Thursday will advance Nutley East to the State Finals. If Nutley East loses on Thursday, there will be a winner-take-all game.
Nutley East won the District 8 tournament title to advance to the Section tournament.
