NUTLEY, NJ — The Nutley High School wrestling team defeated Cedar Grove, 39-30, Jan. 22 at NHS, giving head coach Mike DiPiano Jr.’s his 300th career victory.
DiPiano Jr. took over the helm from his brother, Frank DiPiano at the start of the 2015-16 season. Frank was the head coach for the Raiders for eight seasons. Mike previously was the head coach at Northern Valley at Demarest.
In a text message to The Nutley Journal, Mike wrote “Very special to get the milestone home with so many family and friends in attendance. None of this is possible without all the great assistants I have had by my side over the years. Great evening but now we are focused on North Bergen Friday night! Guys are wrestling hard, and we are extremely happy with where we are at this point of the season.”
