ORANGE, NJ – Orange High School girls’ track and field stars Joanna Marcelin and Tatayanna Beckford gave fine efforts at the NJSIAA Group 3 State Championships held at Central Regional HS in Bayville, June 1-2.
Beckford finished fifth in the javelin at 106-1, while Marcelin was 18th in the long jump at 16-1. The two were the lone competitors for OHS at the meet, which consisted of the top six finishers in each event from the Group 3 sectional meets.
Beckford has qualified for the NJSIAA State Meet of Champions this Saturday, June 9, at Northern Burlington County Regional HS in Columbus.
