IRVINGTON/EAST ORANGE/ORANGE — The start of the high school football season is just a few weeks away.
Teams will officially begin practice on Monday, Aug. 10.
Orange High School, coming off an 0-9 campaign, kicks off the season at North Plainfield on Friday, Aug. 28, at 6 p.m. Akil Boucaud begins his second year as the OHS Tornadoes head coach.
Irvington High School, under third-year head coach Marco Soto, will open the season on Saturday, Aug. 29, against Hudson Catholic in a showcase at West Orange High School at 1 p.m. The IHS Blue Knights will look to improve on last year’s 3-7 record.
East Orange Campus High School will host Piscataway on Aug. 29, at 1 p.m. John Jacob enters his fifth year as the Jaguars head coach. The Jaguars went 9-2 last season.
In the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association’s North Jersey, Section 1, Group 5 state playoffs, EOCHS defeated Bloomfield in the first round and lost to Passaic County Tech in the semifinals.
