Regal Bank receives silver award for community service

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The New Jersey Bankers Association’s Public Relations and Marketing Committee has selected Regal Bank to receive a silver award in the NJBankers 2015 Community Service Award Program, according to a recent release.

NJBankers members submitted entries based on projects and activities provided to communities throughout the state in 2015. The committee asked several members of the New Jersey Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America to review all entries and select those for this special recognition.

Regal Bank received the silver award based on its many activities within local New Jersey communities. These activities included several sponsorships, such as being the sole sponsor of the Summer Concert Series in Livingston, a sponsor of ARC Day at the Kiwanis Karnival, a sponsor of Livingston’s Townwide Pizza Party, as well as Trunk or Treat, Girls’ Night Out, county fairs and street fairs.

Bank employees took part in many fundraising activities in 2015, including fundraising for the American Heart Association and participating in Autism Awareness Month’s Light It Up Blue Campaign. Regal Bank also served as a drop-off location for the Kiwanis Food Drive to help the Food Pantry at St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston.

Additionally, Regal Bank hosted and supported many other events that benefit area communities, such as support of the intergenerational prom, which unites high school seniors with senior citizens. The bank also hosted its eighth annual Hot Dog Roast, giving employees and residents the chance to win prizes and enjoy a fun afternoon. It hosted the seventh annual Dog Pawrade to support the Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter, as well as Santa for Pets Day at the South Livingston Avenue location. Regal Bank also lent its support to events such as Muckfest, National Night Out and Movies Under the Stars.

Another way Regal Bank helps local communities is by being active members of the civic organizations in the towns which branches are located. Many branch managers and business development officers belong to the Rotary, Kiwanis and UNICO clubs, as well as the chambers of commerce and downtown alliances. Several have held the position of president or treasurer for these organizations.

Thomas Lupo, president and CEO of Regal Bank, said in the release: “We pride ourselves on being a community bank and we believe it shows in our culture. Regal Bank is truly honored to receive this award. We look forward to doing even more in our community and supporting all of our neighbors, from local schools and charities to civic organizations and emergency departments.”
