WEST ORANGE, NJ — Staff recognitions highlighted the Dec. 9 Board of Education meeting, held in the West Orange High Auditorium. Family, friends and co-workers attended the meeting to celebrate their accomplishments.

Recognitions included: The New Jersey Department of Education 2019 Exemplary Educator Award went to Mike Bridge, eighth-grade English teacher at Liberty Middle School; Kelly Elementary received bronze certification from Future Ready Schools; Kelly received gold-level recognition, and Liberty and Washington Elementary receives bronze-level recognition from EZ Ride Safe Routes to School; the New Jersey Association of Student Councils named West Orange High School Principal Hayden Moore as Administrator of the Year; WOHS AP world history teacher Michael Figueiredo by The College Board for participating in the 2019 AP Reading; and full-time driver Musa Kaba of the Transportation Department received special commendation with a Staff Appreciation Award.
