WEST ORANGE — On Wednesday, Sept. 23, the Seton Hall Prep soccer team traveled to Fortunato Field in Montclair to take on Montclair High School. The Pirates defeated the Mounties 4-1 to improve to 7-2 on the season.
Montclair opened the scoring in the first half with 23:40 left. The Pirates tied the score at 14:45 when senior John Bigley connected on a penalty kick. In the second half, the Pirates exploded for three goals while shutting out the Mounties.

Sophomore Brody Angevine scored on an assist by fellow sophomore Cooper Finn with 26:10 left to give the Pirates 2-1 lead. They extended the lead to 3-1 when junior Giovanni Carnemolla scored on assists by junior Finnigan Salamone and Angevine with 11:17 left. The final goal was scored with 1:03 left when senior Luke Driscoll scored on an assist by senior Gabriel Rodriguez. Senior Liam Collins had four saves.
The match against Blair Academy was postponed due to the nor’easter.
