WEST ORANGE — The West Orange High School boys soccer team defeated Franklin School (Jersey City), Seton Hall Prep and Robbinsville to extend its winning streak to four games and improved to 5-1 on the season.

WOHS cruised to an 11-1 win over Franklin School, of Jersey City, on Monday, Sept. 14. Senior Yenke Suarez and junior Marcus Williams each had two goals and one assist. Seniors Ilan Salama and Darius Millington each had one goal and two assists. Junior Chase Winds and senior Wayden Parkes each had one goal and one assist. Junior Julian Gomez and senior Justin Amaya each had a goal. Senior Jatniel Vargas Espino collected two assists.
WOHS defeated neighboring rival Seton Hall Prep 1-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Brian P. Tevlin Memorial Field in West Orange. Vargas Espino scored on an assist from senior Johnny Rebaza. Senior goalie Agustin Arrieta made one save. SHP is ranked No. 6 in the state by nj.com.
Suarez had three goals and one assist, and Williams had two goals and one assist in the 6-0 home win over Robbinsville on Saturday, Sept. 19. Millington had one goal and one assist. Junior Damian Aviles had two assists, and Vargas Espino and senior Ivan Urena each had one assist. Arrieta made two saves and senior Keaton Capuano made one save.
WOHS has outscored its opponents 24-2 this season.
In earlier action, junior Maddox Brufau, Millington and Suarez each scored a goal in the second half in a 3-0 win over Montclair on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at WOHS’ Lincoln Field.
Williams, Suarez and Vargas Espino each had one assist, and Arrieta made four saves for the shutout.
The Mountaineers were scheduled to host Plainfield on Tuesday, Sept. 22; and visit Glen Ridge on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
