Real estate firm provides back-to-school supplies

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Atkins Companies, a multigenerational commercial real estate development, investment and property management firm, recently partnered with R&J Strategic Communications, a communications agency, to help students in need this fall by donating backpacks full of school supplies and other necessities in support of Jersey Cares’ School Supply Drive.

Jersey Cares, a Livingston-based nonprofit organization, focuses on projects that address critical community-identified needs. One of the organization’s most popular and impactful annual initiatives, the School Supply Drive, grew out of Jersey Cares’ recognition that each year there are far too many New Jersey students who attend school without the necessary educational tools, such as notebooks, backpacks or pencils. Jersey Cares works with dozens of schools, children’s shelters and community centers with the goal that no child in New Jersey will have to experience a first day of school without these basic necessities.

“The upcoming 2020 school year is set to bring unprecedented challenges for students, whether it be in-person or at home,” Atkins principal Bob Atkins said. “We are proud to participate in Jersey Cares’ School Supply Drive as we know it will make a powerful impact in the lives of students this fall and further our mission of making a tangible impact in our local community.”
