LIVINGSTON, NJ — On Wednesday, April 18, from 4 to 8 p.m., Temple B’nai Abraham will host a blood drive, sponsored by Men’s Club and Social Action Committee in conjunction with Community Blood Services, at the temple, 300 E. Northfield Road in Livingston, entrance on East Cedar Street. Community Blood Services, a not-for-profit organization that supplies blood and blood products to hospitals in the New York and New Jersey region, has been devoted to serving the community’s transfusion medicine needs for more than 60 years, since it was founded in 1953. Donations of blood and blood products, umbilical cord blood, stem cells and bone marrow join individuals, organizations, businesses and communities together in partnership to help save lives. The community is welcome to participate. Perform a mitzvah and donate blood!

Donors are required to please bring photo or signed identification, weigh 110 pounds or more and eat a meal prior to donating. Blood donors over the age of 75 must present a doctor’s note stating they can give blood; 16- and 17-year-olds must present a parental consent form provided by Community Blood Services. For questions regarding blood donation eligibility, call Community Blood Services at 201-444-3900 or visit http://www.communitybloodservices.org/. To make a direct appointment, call 201-251-3703. For other questions related to this event, visit www.tbanj.org.
