Janett passed away at St Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, New Jersey on September 20, 2026 surrounded by family and friends. She had been fighting metastatic lung cancer for 11 months and finally succumbed. Janett was born in New York City to Evelyn Lucille Brammer and Alan Vaughn Brammer. Her mother, shortly, returned with her to Kingston, Jamaica. Janett was the 2nd of 6 children and attended St. Peter and Paul school. Her family moved to Miami in 1973, where she graduated high school. She attended Georgia State University in Atlanta for a brief time then moved to San Antonio, Houston, Chicago and lived the last 35 years in New Jersey. She was a pioneer who worked in a variety of non-traditional jobs for women at US Steel, Bethlehem Steel, ARCO refinery, ConRail, and finally NJ Transit as a conductor for 30 years. She was an outgoing, caring person who fought for humanity and showed humanity for those around her. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert Robertson (Bob), and daughter, Kiara Robertson.
