BLOOMFIELD — The Bloomfield High School boys soccer team defeated Barringer and Irvington.
In the 5-0 win at Barringer on Sept. 21 in Newark, five players scored one goal apiece: seniors Julius Deputato, Jake Buccieri, Sulayman Daoud, Diego Hernandez and Ryan Orlando. Deputato had two assists. Daoud, senior Tyler Brodbeck and sophomore Matteo Ochoa each had one assist. Justin Perez made four saves and fellow senior goalie Eric Scibilia made two saves.
Deputato scored both goals, including the game-winner in double overtime, to lead the Bengals to a 2-1 victory over Irvington on Sept. 23 at Watsessing Park. Brodbeck and junior Phoenix Sharaway each had one assist. Perez made eight saves.
BHS lost at West Orange 4-0 on Sept. 28 to move to 7-3. West Orange is ranked No. 2 in the state by nj.com.
