BLOOMFIELD — The Bloomfield High School football team returned to its winning ways in emphatic fashion, as the Bengals rolled to a 41-7 win over Clifton on Friday, Sept. 18, at Foley Field.
Brandon Plummer, a junior, had touchdown runs of 7 yards in the first quarter and 71 yards in the third quarter. Plummer also threw a 12-yard TD pass to senior Jordan Graham in the third quarter.
Senior Taylor Guerrero scored on a 66-yard run in the second quarter and he returned an interception 33 yards for a TD in the third quarter.
Senior Aiden Ruiz had a 58-yard TD run, followed by Plummer’s two-point conversion pass to senior Michael Mickens in the third quarter.
The Bengals snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 2-2 on the season. Clifton fell to 1-2.
Bloomfield will visit Barringer on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at Schools Stadium in Newark. Barringer is 1-2. BHS will host West Orange on Friday, Oct. 2.
