IRVINGTON — The Irvington High School football team showed its resilience.
Bouncing back from its first loss of the season, the Blue Knights defeated Passaic County Tech 21-8 at IHS’ Ralph C. Steele Sports Complex’s Matthew Field on Friday, Sept. 18, to improve to 3-1.
Junior quarterback Justin Spellman connected with senior Jamir Howell on a 17-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Spellman scored on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter and junior Nadree Richardson had a 2-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
Passaic County Tech fell to 2-2. Last year, Passaic County Tech went 10-4, winning the North 1, Group 5 state sectional title and finishing as Group 5 state finalist.
The Blue Knights will visit Columbia on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at Underhill Sports Complex in Maplewood. Columbia is 0-4.
