BLOOMFIELD — The Bloomfield High School girls soccer team defeated Newark Tech and Millburn to start the season at 2-0 for first-year head coach Joelle Bernhard.
Senior midfielder/captain Inez Brewster and junior midfielder Julia Miller each scored two goals to power the Bengals to a 7-0 win at Newark Tech on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Junior midfielder Isabella Bernhard and senior forward Olivia Mosquera each had a goal and two assists, and junior defender Hailey Pityinger scored a goal. Senior Natalia Mosquera had four saves for BHS.
Brewster, Miller, Pityinger and sophomore Victoria Stec each had a goal in the 4-1 win at Millburn on Friday, Sept. 4. Junior midfielder Isabella Bernhard and junior defender Lily Reilly each had two assists. Natalia Mosquera made four saves.
