BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield resident Corinna Sowers Adler is slated to make her debut in the Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 4 p.m. She was hand picked to sing on the new series, titled “Music Over Manhattan.”

Sowers Adler was a nominee for the first-ever Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre Education earlier this year. She made her solo New York City cabaret debut in 2010 at the Laurie Beechman Theater in “Stories … A Cabaret.” Since then, She has performed solo shows at Stage 72 at the Triad, Duplex Cabaret, Feinstein’s at Loews Regency, Metropolitan Room and 54 Below.

She is the founding artist director of NiCori Studios and Productions and is the artist in residence at Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center.

In December 2011, Sowers Adler began the monthly cabaret series, “Music at the Mansion” at Oakeside, which was nominated for a 2012 MAC award. Sowers Adler is the host of the series, which garnered her a nomination for the 2012 and 2015 BroadwayWorld Cabaret Awards in the “Best Female Vocalist” and “Best Host of a Variety Show” categories. Sowers Adler is currently the executive director of the Gas Lamp Academy of Performing Arts and Gas Lamp Players, based in Glen Ridge, and is directing “Avenue Q,” school edition, with the Gas Lamp Teen Ensemble.

Sowers Adler will feature five of her voice students in the Appel Room — Grace Carlin, of Bloomfield; Zoe Gelman, of Montclair; Kevin W. Bergen, of Hawthorne; Gerry Mastrolia, of North Haledon; and Talia Wynzel, of Parsippany.
Tickets for “Music Over Manhattan” are available by visiting www.corinnasings. com.
