Flooding on Broad Street in Bloomfield created a dangerous situation for motorists.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The township of Bloomfield is seeking a qualified engineering consultant to perform a detailed stormwater management study. This study will include analyzing the town’s existing system, modeling for future storms and their impacts, and identifying areas of improvement.

“Combating the effects of climate change and being ready for the next major storm are important priorities for our township,” Mayor Michael Venezia said. “This study is imperative so that we can take a proactive approach at mitigating damage from future storms.”

Bloomfield is currently accepting applications from prospective consultants for this engineering study and will do so until Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. Standardized submission requirements and selection criteria are on file and available in the township clerk’s office and on the internet at www.bloomfieldtwpnj.com under the information section, “Requests for Professional Services.”

Submission packages may be obtained at the township clerk’s office at 1 Municipal Plaza, during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The clerk’s office can be reached at 973-680-4015.
