BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield High School alumnus Nick Restaino finished an historic career as a place-kicker for the Delaware Valley University football team.
Restaino finished as the school’s all-time leading scorer for kicking and third all-time overall. He also holds the school record for most point-after tries (PAT) made in a career and broke the single-season PAT record. In the postseason, he has the most points by a kicker in school history and is the only kicker to never miss an attempt in the postseason for Delaware Valley ever. This season, he was 3-of-8 on field goals and 59-of-62 in PATs.
After missing the 2017 with an injury in 2017, Restaino was 6-of-8 on field goals and 48-of-51 in PATs in 2018.
Restaino was 3-of-5 in field goals and had 27 PATs in 2015. The next year, he played in all 11 games, making 4-of-5 field goals and 50-of-51 PATs.
Restaino, who is majoring in business with a minor in accounting, will graduate this month with a 3.8 GPA. The Delaware Valley University football team’s memorable 2019 season came to an end in Naperville, Ill. on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 7, in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III playoffs as host North Central College held off a comeback charge from the Aggies to secure the 31-14 victory.
DelVal, located in Doylestown, Pa., finished the year 11-2 overall and won its third straight Middle Atlantic Conference championship with a perfect 8-0 mark to earn the automatic berth to the NCAA Playoffs for the ninth time in program history. It is just the fourth time ever that the Aggies have reached the quarterfinal round, the furthest the program has ever gone.
For the four-year seniors it marks the end of many illustrious careers that achieved three MAC Championships, three NCAA berths, two quarterfinal showings, four postseason appearances, a MAC-Centennial bowl game championship and a conference-record 28 consecutive league victories. They graduate with an overall record of 41-7, tied for the most wins in any four-year stretch in program history.
