BLOOMFIELD – The Bloomfield High School boys’ varsity volleyball team defeated Belleville and Newark Tech to improve to a 4-0 record.
BHS defeated Belleville, 25-13, 25-16, April 7, at Belleville. Andy Murillo had 10 assists and five digs; Khalil Naouai recorded 11 kills and three digs; Noel Shaji collected six kills, two digs, two blocks and two assists; Jose Bruno had eight assists and four digs; and Kyle Barrow added three kills.
Naouai had five kills and three digs and Bruno had seven assists and six assists in the 25-11, 25-10 home win over Newark Tech on April 8. Mike LaFiura had four assists and Murillo added two assists.
The Bengals hosted the Bloomfield Invitational on April 9. In the Gold Bracket, the Bengals lost to Belleville in the quarterfinals, 25-21.
