The Irvington High School varsity wrestling team swept all three matches during a quad meet at Whippany Park High School on Saturday, Jan. 16.
The Blue Knights defeated Whippany Park, 40-34; Passaic, 55-6; and Madison, 51-21, to improve to a 7-4 record.
In previous action, the Blue Knights lost to Cedar Grove, 41-33, Jan. 13, at home, and lost at Bloomfield, 34-30, Jan. 15.
The Blue Knights hope to make a strong showing at the Essex County Tournament, today and Friday, Jan. 21-22, at Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange. The ECT will start at 4 p.m. today and will continue Friday at 6 p.m.
