IRVINGTON, NJ – The Irvington High School varsity football team has several players ranked among the best in Essex County and in the state by The McCarthy Report, 2017.

Jasiah Provillon, a wide receiver/defensive back, is ranked as the No. 1 overall senior player in Essex County and No. 8 overall senior in the state.

Here’s the description of Provillon by The McCarthy Report:

Overall senior in the state:

No. 8-Jasiah Provillon, wide receiver-defensive back, 4.47, (6-3, 185)

  • “Speedster who is a difference-maker and keeps defensive coordinators up at night. Easily defeats press coverage and uses his top-end acceleration to find open spaces in the defense. Smooth mover with deep speed who shows an extra gear when ball is in the air.”

The Blue Knights boast five of the top 10 seniors in Essex County by The McCarthy Report. Along with Provillon, the other IHS players are defensive end Lancine Turay (ranked No. 3); quarterback Brandon Robinson (No. 4); defensive back Jason Antwi (No. 8); and defensive lineman Jalen Scott (No. 10).

Here are The McCarthy Report’s descriptions of the IHS players in the top 10 seniors for Essex County:

No. 1-Jasiah Provillon

  • “The North Carolina State commit is a tall, angular wide receiver who can fly. Has a 4.45 40 dash time.”

No. 3-Lancine Turay, defensive end (6-6, 250)

  • “Brother Kemoko plays at Rutgers. Is a jumbo size, athletic pass rusher with a high upside.”

No. 4-Brandon Robinson, quarterback (6-4, 210)

  • “Transfer was a star at Columbia his sophomore year and hurt at Columbia last year. Could be the sleeper of the year. Has FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision)-level tools.”

  • “Tall, physical corner with good ball skills.”

No. 10-Jalen Scott, defensive line (6-2, 280)

  • “Star defensive lineman since his freshman year. This Lincoln transfer combines power with quickness and can play outside or inside.”

The other top 10 Essex County seniors are:
