MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The Maplewood St. Joseph’s Varsity Girls basketball team has adopted a local family from the Our Lady of Sorrows Secret Santa program.
The girls spent one evening at Target shopping, and another evening wrapping presents for a family of five. The girls pooled their money to buy needed items such as winter coats, boots and supermarket gift cards, and budgeted so they could also include some toys and candy treats for the youngest family members.
“It’s is a wonderful opportunity to see the girls experience the true meaning of Christmas by spreading joy to others and helping others experience the magic of kindness,” coaches Margaret Gray and Susan Ramos said.
