NUTLEY – Senior John Lawton fired a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and three walks to lead the Nutley High School varsity baseball team to a 9-0 home win over Caldwell on April 13.
Senior right-fielder and Rutgers University-bound Anthony Condito hit a two-run homer; senior second baseman Matt Butler went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and a run; and Raul Ortega went 2-for-4 with a run. Senior left fielder Nick Miller had a double and a RBI; and senior third baseman Andrew Santos and senior catcher Domenic Palumbo each drove in a run as the Raiders won for the third time in four games to move to a 3-4 record.
