WEST ORANGE – The West Orange United Soccer Club teams enjoyed victories for the week-ending Nov. 15.

The Cosmos U8 boys enjoyed their second consecutive win  on Nov. 14. The team defeated Bayonne by a score of 5-1 with three goals by Tafsir Diop and goals by Zachary McNeil and Zavier Innocent. Christian Deleon impressed with his vision of the game, which led to several assists, while the rest of the team stepped up its game. This win comes after a 7-1 win against Teaneck the previous week. The Cosmos have impressed with their passing and discipline on defense lately. The team is finishing the season very strong.

The Sounders U10 boys traveled to Livingston to take on the Locomotion. The Sounders took a 2-0 lead in the first half before Livingston scored to end the half, 2-1. In the second half, the Sounders scored again to end the game, 3-1. Goals were scored by Cameron Morgan, Yann Niamke and Julian Bock. The Sounders are now 7-0-2 on the season.

The Dynamo U10 boys traveled to Cresskill to take on Cougar Utd. for their final game of the season.  Goals were exchanged in the first half, resulting in a halftime score of 2-2. The Dynamo goals were scored by Ryan Roberts and Matthew Orabona. Cougar  Utd.  took an early 3-2 lead in the second half, but Dynamo was able to come back and knot the game at 3 on a corner kick by Jordan Turnbull. With under 10 minutes of play, a Justin Baker goal put Dynamo up 4-3. Solid defense by Arthur Rosu and several great saves by goalie Justin Strozyk kept Cougar Utd. from scoring down the stretch. A final goal by Jordan Turnbull ensured a 5-3 Dynamo victory. Contributions from other team members helped keep Cougar Utd. off-balance, led by Dylan Bedoya, Luca Celleri, Jonas Himawan, Younes Kamel, DrewPena,  and Lokesh Sutherland.  The Dynamo finished their season with a 7-2-1 record.

The Fury U12 girls defeated Pequannock, 4-0. The Fury got on the board early when Lizzie Fleming passed the ball to Olivia Telemaque, who dribbled around two players to score the first goal. Telemaque’s second goal came on a cross from Britney Fort Foskey. Caitlin Bridgers scored the next two goals both on breakaways. Nia Simpson, Hannah Lancman, Delia Wasky and Tori Rideau Winds all had excellent field play. Camille Ferrell recorded the eighth shutout  of the season. The undefeated  Fury ended the season with a 9-0-1 record. After remaining in first place all season, they have won their flight.
