WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange High School students worked for four months with drama teacher Wendy Mapes and vocal teacher John Hellyer to put on their production of ‘Aida,’ which ran this past weekend. Amazing sets, sound and lighting set the mood that transported the audience to ancient Egypt ‘during a time of war.’ The Tony Award-winning score by Tim Rice and Elton John sets the tone for drama, excitement and even laughter as they modernize Giuseppe Verdi’s classic tragic opera.
