ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Through a donation from the Sobel Family Foundation, Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ is delivering care packages to 300 at-risk older adults in the community.
During the next few weeks, JFS volunteers will deliver the care packages to residents of Village Apartments in South Orange, the Federation Plaza in West Orange, B’nai B’rith in South Orange and homebound adults living in private homes. Packages include paper products, household cleaners, dish detergent, sanitizing wipes, hand soap and sanitizer, personal protective equipment, cookies, and cards made by volunteers.
“These care packages will provide necessary and sometimes hard-to-find disinfectants, sanitizing wipes, gloves, masks, and other supplies to older adults living in the community who are most at risk for contracting COVID-19. We hope these care packages will remind the recipients that we are here to support them,” said Stephanie Grove, RSVP director at Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ.
